Find and evaluate a dataset.
Your evaluation should include, at a minimum, a five number summary (where appropriate), at leastthree visual representations of the data (or portion of the data), and some suggested inferences that can be drawn from the dataset.
Additional Guidelines
- Keep in mind the three basic characteristics (central tendency, variation, and distribution)
- Analysis should be completed in Excel or some other standard statistical package.
- For this assignment
- Datasets must be publically available
§ Data.gov is one place to start but there are lots of others
o Statistics and graphics presented must be appropriate for the data
o Analysis may include at most 2 different variables
- Be sure to link to the dataset
- If the data is not directly accessible by a hyperlink, be sure to include a copy of the data
- Double Spaced, Times New Roman, 12 Point Font, 1 in Margins
- Cite your sources
Any standard format is acceptable, my preference is APA
