This assignment will give you a chance to explore current trends in the regions of the world you are studying and make connections between contemporary events and geographical themes.
First select two regions to concentrate on other than North America (i.e., Europe, Central America, South America, Sub-Sahara Africa, Northern Africa, Southwest Asia, East Asia, South Asia or Southeast Asia).
You should use three of the following sources. the New York Times, BBC, CNN, Christian Science Monitor, NPR, or Reuters. If you wish to use other sources check with the instructor first.
You will turn in a one-paragraph summary of each article along with a citation of the article. Explain how the article relates to the geographical themes and ideas.
