Question: Strategic planning scenario
You need some information regarding work from Jackie. She is one of your colleagues, but you have not been in touch lately. She's the only person at work that can give you that information. You've contacted her multiple time, but she never answered. Then she calls you a day before the deadline, and tells you that she does not have the information you need.
How do you handle the situation. Rank the following statements from 1 to 7 as (1 most important to 7 less important)
1) Work with Jackie to find if there is another way to obtain the information. ( by looking again at the inventory, etc) or by contacting another person who might have it.
2) Contact Jackie's Supervisor, informing them that you need that critical information if he can adjust Jackie to work, so she can work with you.
3) Contact Jackie's Supervisor and let him know that she is being unprofessional by being uncooperative with you.
4) Tell Jackie that even if she doesn't have that information she still can contribute.
5) Request that you meet with Jackie immediately, so you can explain the project and the importance of it.
6) Tell Jackie that she is responsible to deliver the information, and if the project fails is her fault too,meanwhile let other involved in the project know that she has bee uncooperative.
7) Try to reschedule a deadline and see if she will be available by then.
