The corporation for which you are on the board of directors operates globally. One of their subsidiaries is a banana growing farm in Colombia, South America. You have learned that the company has been paying bribes to a terrorist organization in Colombia in order to protect the people who work for your company, and that the only way to keep them safe is to pay the terrorists. You know that it's wrong, but other American companies in Colombia have complained of workers disappearing, being murdered, plants being vandalized, and other really awful things happening if they refused to support the terrorist organization there. You know also that it's illegal to pay bribes to government officials, but you wonder if the terrorists are considered to be a government. In any event, you do not want the blood of any murdered civilians on your hands. What would you do?
