The traditional school of thought has given more emphasis on business strategy and achievement through tight supervision however the modern school of thought has realised the importance of a soft approach and loose control to achieve high productivity and better results.
Since you belong to the modern school of thought you have been asked to prepare a report and a presentation to analyse the change of role from Personnel Management to Human Resource Management.

Discrimination at work has become a common topic of discussion among the employees. Equal opportunities legislation has done much to raise awareness of the issue. You are a research student doing research on a topic called 'Issues in International Human Resources' your supervisor has asked you to produce an information guide on discrimination in employment, equal opportunities, the legislative framework, managing diversity and HR practices and issues.
