Requirements:
For this assignment, you are required to present an analysis of one of the case studies listed above.
You are requested to form groups of 4 people for this assignment, and prepare a powerpoint slideshow to assist you in presenting your findings to the class. It is suggested that you operate as a team of management consultants, and select a name for your professional consultancy group. As a team of management and organisational behavioural specialists, you are required to carefully examine the narrative of your allocated case, and prepare a presentation that:
1. identifies the key issue or problem evident in your case study
2. identifies a range of sub-issues or problems (minimum of 4, maximum of 10)
3. indicates 4 to 5 relevant theories, and explains how these theories relate to the case
4. outlines a broad range of possible solutions or intervention strategies
5. presents a succinct and focused preferred solution and brief implementation plan - what you will do on day one, week one, over the first month, the first six months, the first year for example.
Your presentation should be approximately 20 minutes duration, and each member of your group is required participate in the oral delivery of a part of the presentation.
Additional guidelines will be discussed in class over the next few weeks.
The grading of this assignment:
This assignment will be graded according to the following criteria:
(a) Content: Ability to identify relevant theory, concepts, problems and issues, and arguments
(b) Analysis: Ability to analyse the issues, concepts and arguments
(c) Logic: Ability to present and integrate material appropriately
(d) Group Method: Ability to present a coherent and fluent overall presentation (seamlessness)
(e) Presentation Skills: Persuasiveness, clarity, engagement
Some of the presentations will be scheduled to take place between 7.30pm and 9.00pm on the Tuesday evening in UNH4.16, however, due to the large size of this class, some presentations will need to be scheduled for alternative timeslots in the boardroom on Level 3. Scheduling will be arranged in consultation with each group.
