Project Home
Buying a house
You are in the process of buying a house. Set up a project for the whole process from the decision to buy until move in. I would expect at minimum the project should involve
- Research and decision on where to buy
- Finance decisions
- Buying the dream home , inspections and research - Settlement
- Moving in and related activities such as utilities
Describe the process as accurately as you can using the links below. Identify the steps that need to be taken in the process and the predecessors and successors identified.

You can of course use other resources as well
Use Microsoft Project or Open Project to create the plan with the following
- Gantt chart with expected duration of each task (in hours) and grouped in phases.
- Indentify the predecessor(s)to each task - Remember that tasks can run parallel
- Identify milestones
- Identify the Critical path (CPM/PERT)
- Use all group member as costs per hour for labour - Allocate time each phase
Print out and submit a report that at minimum shows:
- The expected duration of the project in a Gantt chart broken into phases and tasks, - Milestones
- The Critical path (CPM/PERT)
- Risks involved and the steps involved in mitigating these.
