Click on the link "Questions to Ask When Writing about Polls" for suggestions about how to determine if a poll is good or bad. Click on the link "What Is a Random Sample?" and then the link "Bad Samples" for some examples of flawed samples.

(i) You are going to design a survey at your university. Give a question of interest and two examples of bad ways to collect your sample, along with the likely direction of bias that would result. Explain your answers.
(ii) How would you modify your examples in (a) to produce a better sample? What are some difficulties you might encounter when collecting your sample?
