ASSIGNMENT:
Primer paint is used to improve paint adhesion. At ZMD, an aerospace company manufacturingcommercial aircrafts, primer paints are applied to several aircraft components. ZMD's Aircraft_Series_900 design specifications calls for a primer paint, with a minimum adhesion force of 4.0N.
You are a process engineer at ZMD. One of your main responsibilities is to identify areas of opportunities for quality improvement. Recently, you have been researching alternative brands to the primer paint currently used. Based on manufacturers' specifications you selected three alternatives, and requested samples. You ran an experiment to observe which primer, including the one in use, gives the highest adhesion
force. You will now prepare a technical memo for your manager, Lauren Hull, to report your findings.
Your report must include the following:
a) Explain briefly why you initiated this study
b) State which primer(s) you recommend using in production and which primer(s) to avoid based on
- your data analysis, and
- the pricing information on all four primers shown in Table 1 below.
