Norm violation
You are to violate a norm of AMERICAN culture. DO NOT GET ARRESTED. Be sure that the norm you violate is a folkway, not a more.
As you conduct this exercise, be aware of:
- How you feel
- How others react
- What norm you are violating
- What is the purpose (function) of the norm in our society?
You are then to write at LEAST one page that addresses each of the items above. In addition, you should describe what you did. Tell me the story of your norm violation, then address each of the items above.
You will be graded on:
grammar and sentence structure
correctly identifying a norm and description of the violation
correctly identifying the purpose or function of the norm and description of the reactions of others.
