Problem: The responsibilities of nonmedical therapists working with clients taking medication or contemplating taking medication include: Monitoring client responses to medications by observing improvements, side-effect problems, and medication adherence (Preston et al., 2021). Collaborating with physicians and psychiatrists by communicating with them about diagnoses, target symptoms, hypothesized causes of problems, and possible treatments (Preston et al., 2021). Diagnosing mental disorders that require medication and making appropriate referrals (Preston et al., 2021).
