The urinary bladder is a muscular sac that acts as a temporary reservoir, or holding place, for urine. There are sphincter muscles located around the bladder to restrict leakage. The urinary bladder has nerves that signal when it is time to urinate and the sphincter muscles will relax. There is a triangular region called the trigone that is located at the base of the bladder where the ureters enter and the urethra exits.
Nephrolithiasis, or renal calculi, is when there are stones of built up of uric acid and calcium salts in the kidney.
Renal failure occurs when the kidney's functionality have deteriorated and its ability to excrete wastes has decreased. Different factors could lead to renal failure, such as hypertension and diabetes.
A Wilms tumor is a malignant tumor of the kidney that develops during childhood.
