Problem 1: Define shaping.
Problem 2: What about the subject or behavior makes shaping a good technique to use for training a rat to press a bar? Compare shaping to other instructional methods and why they may or may not be appropriate here.
Problem 3: Write out your shaping plan for training this behavior. Identify at least three behaviors that could be successive approximations for your final behavior of pressing the bar. As you write out this plan, remember that correct terminology is that you reinforce behaviors, not the rat.
