"Use a spreadsheet and the problem solving format to create a table that contains the flowrate, Q, over a weir in both cubic feet per second (cfs) and gallons per hour. The flow rate, Q, is found by the following formula:
Q = 288.8*L*H^(3/2)
where Q is in gal/hour, L is in inches, and H is in inches
Let L range from 1 to 20 inches in 1-inch increments and H range from 2 to 10 inches in 2-inch increments
Write one formula to calculate the flowrate in gallons per hour and another formula to calculate the flowrate in cubic feet per second; copy these formulas to all other cells in the appropriate table columns
Your table should appear in the solutions section of your spreadsheet and should look similar to the one in the Lecture Slides.
Submit two copies of your spreadsheet - one with values (must fit on one page) and another in formula auditing mode (must be able to read full formulas - only need one page of formulas). To print formulas - go to Formula tab => Show Formulas. "
