You may write on any topic explored in the text, or other topics related to education policy and the issue of diversity. You are cautioned to narrow your topic so that you can cover it thoroughly. For example, writing on multicultural education is too broad; however, writing about how current curriculum addresses ethnicity would be appropriate. Common Core is a frequently used topic, however, it is too broad so if you choose this subject you will need to narrow your paper to a specific aspect of this legislation. One tip that may be helpful is that if you begin your research and the information available is very limited, your topic is probably too narrow; if there is a plethora of information, you may need to narrow your search.
