Assignment task: Screen Time
Your aunt and uncle are responsible parents and they are considering buying their son an iPad now that he is entering middle school. They know there is information out there about problems with having too much screen time and they are worried that their son will be using his iPad to view videos. They know that you may have heard about these issues in your classes at the UW, so they ask you to help them make a list of health concerns associated with too much screen time as well as a plan to ensure their son uses the iPad responsibly. What would be on your list of health concerns (name at least 3 concerns) and what would be included in your plan (name at least 5 components)? Discuss the scientific evidence associated with 2 of your health concerns to show your aunt and uncle that the concerns are valid.
