Problem
Our first written problem of the course asks us to spend some time thinking a little more in-depth about the role and expression of love and/or desire in the ancient world. You will write a claim about one or both of the Greek myths we have read during this module and use quotes and summaries from the myths and Plato's Symposium to support your claim.
Write a well-developed and well-supported 500-word essay on the role of love and/or desire in Ovid's versions of "Orpheus and Eurydice" and/or "The Transformation of Daphne into a Lawrel." You may choose to write about both myths or just one. Explain how love and/or desire are defined and expressed in the myth(s). You may want to use portions of Plato's Symposium to define your terms. Be sure to support your argument with evidence from the text in the form of direct quotations and paraphrase.
