Write an assay about your parents by focusing on differences or simmillarities between them. Think of at least three points. Make sure that the items to be C/C belong to the same class (must have some common ground). Deal with both sides of the question. All C/C are concerned with two sides. You must deal with both (equally). Use expressions indicating C/C (some examples): also, as well as, in like manner, like, likewise, neither...nor, similar, too, although this may be true, but, however, unlike, whereas. Why C/C the two subjects? What is the basis for the C/C? In "Superhero Smackdown," Wolk describes and exemplifies two comic book enterprises through characteristics, rivalry, and ability to adapt. "Diogenes and Alexander" uses two famous Greeks to explain and C/C the true meaning of freedom and life. In "That Lean and Hungry Look," Jordan categorizes people into two generalizations and using the point-by-point structure explains her opinion about who is the most favorable and why. In "Grant and Lee," Catton reviews background, personality, aspiration, and leadership. Each of these writers had to first have an idea to pursue-a basis of comparison/contrast-and then used subjects as the examples and base of the comparison/contrast. Look at both subjects equally as you compare and contrast. Whatever points you choose to make the C/C, you must address both subjects with those points. Choose the organizational structure for your essay.
