Write an additional scene for nightingale and chase

Assignment task:

1. Imagine you are going to write an additional scene for Nightingale and Chase from any character's perspective. Whose perspective would you write it from? What new information would you include?

2. Please reply to the following paragraph.

I think writing from the perspective of Scott would be incredibly powerful in this play. Throughout the play he is a focal point but apart from the main characters. He has been sent to live with his aunt after his mother is sent to jail, and I think seeing the play unfold from his more limited perspective would have a significant impact. His father would rather send him to a relative than deal with raising him alone, his mother is in jail for petty crimes but seems to have a deep love for him. I would include information about his experience being sent to live with his aunt, and what type of correspondence he has with his mother- or how his father and aunt explain this situation to him. The pain and duality of knowing his mother loves him but can't seem to stay out of trouble/jail, I think, is a story that is familiar to many children. He feels loved and abandoned and is processing all of these complicated emotions from the understanding of a child.
