Write a descriptive composition
The authors of the story "The Ugly Truth about Beauty" from Voices and Values (pages 159-161) write about men's and women's appearances. In one paragraph, describe someone you know who is overly concerned about his/her appearance.
Your topic sentence should be the first sentence of the paragraph and discuss who the person is and how he/she is too concerned about how he/she looks.
Body sentences should go into detail by describing how the person is too concerned about his/her appearance. (For instance, you can describe how this person spends time on things such as hair, clothes, body image, make-up, etc.)
Here are the requirements of this assignment:
Your paragraph should have a statement of a main idea or purpose, followed by specific examples or details that support and develop that point. You should refer to your Reading-Writing Connection textbook (pages 192-195 and pages 222-226) for further reminders on writing a compare and contrast composition.
Your paragraph should contain 10 or more sentences (not counting your topic sentence) that support your main idea/topic.
Your paragraph should be 125 words or more (in the body of your paper---not counting your name, course name, date, or title)
