Problem: Bill is an enthusiastic second grader with an excellent vocabulary. He reads fluently at the 4th grade level and was referred for evaluation (pending) to determine if he is functioning in a gifted range. He enjoys writing but has difficulty organizing his narratives into a complete story. He also has difficulty staying on topic, tending instead to string related thoughts and ideas together without considering his intended purpose. Here is an example of his written language.
