It has an in-house IT department of four (4) people that cover everything from accounting to inventory control to customer relationship management. The Data Center is in one corner of the warehouse and is sealed off from the rest of the area. It has a raised floor with cooling, which was a hard-fought victory in the last budget cycle. Your company has a mix of physical and virtual servers. It currently backs up all of its data to tapes that are rotated weekly to a safe deposit box at a nearby bank. The company has never developed a disaster recovery plan. Austin Energy supplies the power. Telephone and networking are sole sourced to AT&T. Each of the drivers carries an iPhone that she or he uses to check updates from the route planning software and log deliveries to the inventory control system as well as for voice communications use.
Write a proposal that the company create a Disaster Recovery Plan. Your should take the form of a memo to the company's CEO and CFO in which you:
1) Articulate the need for a Disaster Recovery Plan.
2) Describe how the plan will be tested and maintained after it is created.
