Find a topic that you think is worthy of more research. It can be worthy because
(1) you think it's important for society, or
(2) you find it very interesting.
Requirements:
There are no format requirements. Write in whole sentences.
Write a paper with the following outline:
Overview:
One to two paragraphs that give an overview of the topic, explaining why it's important or interesting. You can use 1st person in this section. Header of this section is a repeat of the paper's title, but is not bolded. This section has no in-text citations. This section should end with a statement of purpose for the paper, something that begins with "In this paper I will..." or "This paper will..."
Source summaries:
Four paragraphs summarizing four sources that provide further information on this topic.
One paragraph per source, and only one source per paragraph. Each paragraph should have a bolded header that suggests the relevance of the source for the topic. Each paragraph begins with an umbrella sentence than includes an in-text citation.
Conclusion:
Two or three paragraphs that sum up what has been learned about the topic after this research. This section could include possible hypotheses that could be drawn from this research. This section refers back to each of the four sources & has in-text citations. It is important that this section not just repeat what has already been said in the paper. Bring the paper to closure, but avoid sounding repetitious.

Four pages.
Four sources minimum.
No quotations.
APA format.
NO FIRST PERSON in source summary paragraphs!
Sentences meet college levels for grammar, mechanics, and formality.
Summaries are in past tense (for APA).
Paragraph Construction :
•Summary paragraphs have a thesis statement as the first sentence of the paragraph.
•For other paragraphs, thesis sentence is in ISSUE portion of the paragraph.
•Thesis sentence is an umbrella sentence, covering the whole DISCUSSION portion.
•ISSUE portion is shorter than the DISCUSSION portion.
•Paragraph has at least five sentences and no more than nine sentences.
•Paragraphs are well developed.
•Paragraphs flow coherently from sentence to sentence.
Sources :
•Each paragraph is a summary of a single source.
•Sources are well summarized.
•Each paragraph is all summary, no quotation.
•Paper meets source count.
Format :
•Page layout, in-text citations, and bibliography is in the assigned format.
Assignment :
•Paper meets length requirements.
•Revision procedures per syllabus have been followed.
