Problem
The Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1970 was passed to ensure safe and healthy working conditions for working men and women. It authorized enforcement of the standards developed under the act and provided for research, information, education and training in the field of occupational safety and health. The Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1970 now protects around 6.5 million workers in the United States and is backed by the OSHA.
• Visit Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) website, and download or order a publication regarding health or safety in any occupation.
• Write a one-page summary of the publication. Use subheads to clearly state the reason for the publication and any security precautions as well as health, safety and worker welfare regulations the publication emphasized.
• An OSHA handbook for the class will be created by putting every student's summary into a three-ring binder.
