Imagine that you work in the HR department of the NOLA Toy Company, based in New Orleans. Over the past 6 months, the company president, Jason O Connor, has noticed that an increasing number of the company's staff has been coming to work late (this does not include you). The president has asked you to send a memo to all employees telling them to cut it out and start getting to work on time or else.
Write a memo to the staff of NOLA Toy Company in which you convey Mr. O Connor's message but do so in a courteous, professional manner. (Make sure you follow the format laid out in the Professional Memos video you watched.) Your memo to NOLA employees should be designed to be distributed in hard copy, not sent as an e-mail.
Your memo must include, at the very least. a statement on the importance of being on time, a table or graph that explains the trend of tardiness, and recommendations on ways for employees to make sure they get to work on time. You will need the following information for this memo:
July: 3% of employees were late at least 5 times
August: 10% of employees were late at least 5 times
September: 20% of employees were late at least 5 times
October: 25% of employees were late at least 5 times
November: 30% of employees were late at least 5 times
December: 50% of employees were late at least 5 times
NOLA Toy Company's working hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
