For my policy paper topic I will focus on the issue of the uninsured and the medically underserved. Millions of Americans do not have health insurance, and those who do have it, still have to suffer from lack of health facilities or providers. I will create a policy that is government funded that aims to offer health insurance to Americans from the lower class to middle class.
The policy will also give all children regardless of socioeconomic status free health care. The name of my policy will be called " No American Left Behind". We are a first world country with plenty of resources, there is no reason that millions of Americans are not getting healthcare. One of my ways to help this policy be implemented is to tax the rich more. It is unfair that a billionaire and a person making under 20k a year are being taxed the same percent.
I would have to venture into the avenue of social change research to help this project excel in order to reach some of my objectives. I would also aim to take this issue to the media on a large scale by using celebrities to help advertise the issue. If the issue is viewed by the entire nation more people will act. There is power in majority, the more voices I have to back up this intervention the stronger the outcome will be.
