Instructions:
Write a 100-word plot summary of James Joyce's 'The Dead'. This summary of the events of the story should appear at the top of your essay.
Now write a 1500-word essay on the following topic:
Consider the influence of the dead on the lives of Dubliners in Joyce's 'The Dead'.
In your essay, make use of concepts from at least TWO of the following areas of stylistic analysis:

Cohesion
Speech & Thought categories (direct, indirect, & free indirect discourse)
