Discussion Post: Data Collection and Data Quality
Topic: Interviews and Observations
Both qualitative and quantitative data collection methodologies include interviews and observation techniques. What are the differences in the qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection? Imagine you are doing a study on couples who have extremely opposite eating preferences based on the intake of fat. Would you use a quantitative or qualitative approach to the study? Would you collect the data from interviews or observation? Why? Are there any disadvantages to this technique?
