As many people can tell you, the downloading of copyrighted movies and music from YouTube can be considered pirating and illegal. However, let's consider Let's Plays. With newer YouTube features such as YouTube Premium, it is possible for videos to be downloaded from YouTube. However, this wasn't always the case. Not too long ago, Let's Plays was a type of media on YouTube that was 1. not copyrighted and 2. not available for purchase anywhere else.
Although it would not be illegal, would you consider the downloading of media that meets these two conditions to be ethical or unethical? Does the intent (personal use, distribution, education, etc.) matter at all?
