Problem
In document 6 of chapter 15 in "Major Problems", Anthony Romero heeds a warning against the Patriot Act. In the document he states, "We know from our history that in times of national emergencies government officials have targeted particular groups for harassment or outright discrimination." So the question is, would minorities groups feel more at ease if they did not have to be concerned with being discriminated against for something they might not have done? Even today, individuals of Chinese descent were discriminated against for "starting" the 2020 Covid-19 epidemic. If 9/11 had been done from a different race of people or from individuals of a different religious orientation, would Americans have reacted differently?
