Discussion:
1, 250 words for main discussion
2, 150 each for two classmates respond which I have post here
In this discussion Topic, I'd like to examine your thoughts on the recent mass murders incidents that we have endured recently.
We live in a very complicated world, and we have examined if you could use deadly force to save a life , would you support the death penalty of a loved one who had commited murder(s).
We have had numeorus incidents in the world and in the U.S, where individuals alone or together have murdered numeorus innocent victims. In the U.S, the weapon has recently been a semi-automatic weapon, but we have also had the use of vehicles to run people over, knife attacks, pressure cooker bombs and other explosives.
So, you have the legislative power to enact law(s) in order to prevent terrible crimes against humanity.
Would you ban firearms?
Would you ban certain type of firearms?
Would allow people to carry concealed weapons for their protection?
Would get rid of the 2nd Amendment?
Would you have stricter background checks (what type of checks)
Would you hire more police?
Would you start having public executions?
Would deport those are here illegally who have a violent criminal record especially firearm related?
Would Ban certain people from specific countries who have violent records?
Would you increase surveillance of people and if so how would you do it without violating their rights?
Would you allow the tapping of emails, phone calls, and regular mail?
Would you try and educate criminals more?
Would force people with metal illness into therapy against their will?
Would allow the military to patrol ours streets?
or any other plan...............
What will you do? Whatever you do, provide a plan and how you will pay for such a plan and consider Suspect's rights vs Victim's rights.
Provide a detailed explanation with a minimum of 250 words .

Would you ban firearms? No, if someone wanted it that badly they would get it. Specifically in America because we have way too many people and way too many different people.
Would you ban certain type of firearms? Yes. There is no reason a bazooka or a tank should roam the streets of any state/city. Which means there is no reason any assault rifle should be allowed. If it is used then it was obtained illegally. Hunting weapons are fine; no one needs an AK to hunt.
Would allow people to carry concealed weapons for their protection? No. The chances of someone using a weapon for any reason increase to 100%. Not getting what you want from a restaurant - pull a gun out. Bratty kids acting up - pull a gun out. Black Friday sales happening - pull a gun out. If someone were to attack you with their fists the chances of someone using their weapon are extremely high.
Would get rid of the 2nd Amendment? Nah. Maybe edit it or make sure the states ban certain types of guns, but the rest is okay.
Would you have stricter background checks (what type of checks)? Yes, I have no idea because I never looked into gun laws. I never had an actual opinion on guns or gun laws because I don't care about it enough. I just know guns don't kill people, people kill people. I would like stricter background checks, but I wouldn't know where to begin.
Would you hire more police? Possibly. In a perfect world I would have a very well trusted, uncorrupt team of captains so they can micromanage their own squads. Each will be trained differently if they choose. Maybe one squad will be nicer than another, maybe one will be more relatable, but none of them will be corrupt or unfair.
Would you start having public executions? I want to say yes, but no. That's fucked. People didn't come to America to be ruled by a tyrant, even if I would love to be a tyrant/dictator. I'd be dethroned so quick if I had public executions.
Would deport those are here illegally who have a violent criminal record especially firearm related? Maybe. If there was some system that somehow gave each and every one a fair trial and a chance to explain themselves as to why they have such a record, then I would. However, that would take too much time and too much resources. Sometimes people have to do things they don't want to in order to survive. Since there wouldn't be an effective system in play, I wouldn't deport them.
Would Ban certain people from specific countries who have violent records? In a perfect world, yes. However I don't see how that would happen without it being a ticking time bomb. America isn't small enough to micromanage like that, it'd hurt more than it'd help.
Would you increase surveillance of people and if so how would you do it without violating their rights? On innocent people, no. On people who have lost their rights and privileges because of their actions, probably. There wouldn't be the resources or funding for it, but if it were possible I would like to have more surveillance. People who commit crime lose their right to privacy if it was not in good reasoning.
Would you allow the tapping of emails, phone calls, and regular mail? No, that's creepy. That's also a lot of work for no reason. Maybe profile people (probably racist) and keep a closer eye on them, but it's hard to really say. (911...)
Would you try and educate criminals more? Yes. Time is money, money is power, power is pizza, and pizza is knowledge. Education is important. Education and therapy. If they don't respond well then they die.
Would force people with mental illness into therapy against their will? Not force, but I would coax them into it. I would like to send them to actual therapy, not somewhere doctors and nurses inject them with all types of drugs like they were experiments. Not everyone responds the same to every treatment. Hopefully I would be able to help everyone.
Would allow the military to patrol ours streets? Maybe. They already do, they're just not in uniform and not on duty.
I have no plan. I would wing it and see what happens, probably. If I had no rules and didn't have to follow any laws, then I would be like the robin hood of dictators. Steal from the rich, use their money to build and educate the community, get rid of waste, and build a utopia. After everything is leveled off, then I will turn the monarchy into a democracy and life will resume as such. Easy peas-y.

The numerous incidents where one or multiple people plan an act to attack innocent people, making them victims of a tragedy is horrendous but unfortunately, it is the reality we live in. Tragedies are the consequences caused by their actions. If I could enact laws to prevent crimes against humanity...I would not get rid of the Second Amendment, instead maybe elaborate, and better specify so that everybody is able to interpret and where it can help make sense to everyone, that, right to bear arms means, right to possess arms for their own defense and protection. Not to use arms for crime, harm, terrorist actions, or victimize.
I would not ban firearms, I would allow everyone who's passed an extensive background check to own a firearm. The background check would include a life criminal check, so all crime committed since child to adulthood. No Felonies and certain Misdemeanors would disqualify the privilege of a firearms. Make it clear that owning a firearm or firearms is a privilege and can be taken away if any abuse to the rules and restrictions on owning a firearm and crime activity is executed. Limiting the types of weapons available to the public and training LEO with a wider variety of weapons to prepare, aid, and respond to anywhere from a shooter to a bomb attack. Included would be accessibility to a higher grade protective vests to utilize while performing their duties in serving the public. I would definitely hire more LEO and I would have military posted throughout the U.S. All protective gear provided to LEO and military would be paid by the taxes on firearms.
I would definitely bring back the electric chair and public executions for terrorist, child molestors, rapist, and murders. Deporting those individuals who are illegal in this country, with a violent criminal record such as all of the above and firearm related, and not those who work hard to survive everyday, deportation is an option. For those who are serving time in jail and prisons, would definitely make it mandatory for them to be educated in jail and for them to maintain a certain grade and show some progression. Mental help and therapy would be offered for those who need it. Education and Medical treatments would be paid by the wealthy, that would be nice.
It is so easy to say, wish we could easily enact certain laws for positive changes to protect everyone.
