Problem: As a sport manager, many people will have a voice (or think they have a voice) in the design of a facility. You, as the manager will ultimately have to live with all decisions in the daily operations.
Students will comment and discuss what they believe to be the most important system in a facility. Be sure to tell why you believe that system to be the most important.
Guidelines:
- Students must discuss which system they believe to be the most important in a facility as well as WHY they believe that system to be the most important.
- Understand some of the ways in which the systems in a facility interact.
- Appreciate the issues associated with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Understand the importance of air quality and how it is maintained.
- Characterize the energy systems used in a facility.
- Know how the plumbing system delivers and extracts water.
- Appreciate the various internal and external systems that help a facility function.
- Appreciate some of the nuances associated with managing the operations of sport facilities.
