Discussion: Shakespeare in the Bush
Read Bohannon's experience and address ALL of the following questions:
a) What attitude did Laura Bohannan have about cross-cultural translation of Shakespeare before visiting the Tiv?
b) What differences in custom and belief hampered her telling of "Hamlet" and how? How did the world views and language of the Tiv affect their interpretation?
