Hello Addison and Classmates, You clearly explain why Thomas is able to recover his medical expenses under Maryland's workers' compensation law. I liked how you explained that the insurance policy provided under this law covers lost wages, medical expenses, and death benefits. Therefore, since Thomas has an employer-employee relationship with Clean, he is covered under law and therefore can pursue a claim for recovering his medical expense. However, I do not agree with you regarding your argument that Sarah would be treated differently. It is important to note that while Sarah does not have an employee-employer relationship with Clean, she has such a relationship with Maryland Helpers. Therefore, in as much as she does not qualify to claim the recovery of her medical expenses under Maryland's workers' compensation law from Clean, she can purse such claims against Maryland Helpers because that is her employer.
