Discussion:
1. Case analysis is a great tool for looking at all of the alternatives. Case analysis' are used a lot in undergraduate and graduate studies for students to learn how to analyze, but of course, it is also a great tool in the workforce. Great discussions can take place including much out of the box the box thinking.
Class, what is your experience and what have you learned from case analysis during your studies and/or in the workplace?
M2. y organization, higher education, does have to update its strategic plan yearly - it is required by the body whom is overseeing all state colleges and universities - it actually needs to be submitted to that body and we are required to follow the strategic plan. All of our decisions as a college and the president's cabinet will need to point directly to the strategic plan on file, Actually, my goal as the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the president's cabinet need to be point directly to a certain section of the strategic plan. I am also charged with tying the institution's budget directly to the strategic plan.
Class, what are your thoughts on this? What do you think are the main reasons for this?
3. At my organization the president's cabinet, senior management. is responsible to monitor and recommend potential changes needed.
We do have a planning council and are meeting monthly to review. We also have to forward this to the state agency overseeing the state colleges.
Katarina and class, what tools are we going to use to monitor?
