Why patient records should always be protected

Problem: Patient records should always be protected along with any and all information pertaining to a patient. When working in healthcare we have to be very careful when and where we are discussing patients and who we are discussing it with. After reading chapter 13 I want you to think carefully about a situation in which your information was disclosed improperly or if you have ever been witness to such disclosure. For example, I myself have been to doctors offices where I can hear the medical assistants discussing patients with no regard to who can hear them. This is clearly a violation of HIPAA and the patients rights. Start your discussion with an example, either personal or a book example, and give me your point of view and how you felt about the situation. Make sure to include terms from the chapter. You should at least two references to support your views. Want Online Help?
