Design a matrix that compares/contrasts ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS, using the following headings:
a) A Brief description of the purpose of the terminology or nomenclature (in your own words).
b) The organization that maintains the terminology or nomenclature.
c) Setting which is most appropriate for the terminology or nomenclature (i.e. inpatient, outpatient, both, other, etc).
d) Explanation of the ability of the terminology or nomenclature to lend itself to an electronic record.
e) Reflection: After learning about the various terminology/nomenclatures, reflect on why is it important to have these types of terminology/nomenclatures for healthcare? Why won't one system suffice for the needs of the various levels of care?
