Why is this type of design beneficial (don't just copy from the book or lecture). Compare this type of design to another type of design you know of.
A - The to-down design is just as it sounds. It starts off with all the pertinent info of the "Big Picture" at the top and then slowly works its way to the bottom of the program where most of the final details are filtered in. This method of design keeps the programmer focus in the right direction keeping them align with the original specifications. One example I found is writing up a basketball game.
