Geneticallymodified (GM) corn has been used to feed livestock in North America for the past 25 years. During that time, well over 1000 studies have looked for negative health effects in cattle associated with the consumption of GM feed. To date, no such conclusive evidence has been found. And yet many people and countries remain very worried about the consumption of GM food and livestock that has been given GM feed. Why is the risk of GM foods perceived to be so great?
