Problem: Why is this statement important for psychologists and students to understand and remember?
Statement: Psychologists have no privileged calling to challenge religious institutions and their doctrines. God or any other divine being is not our domain; neither is the world vision of churches. We do not enter into debates of faith versus reason, of one theology versus another, or of religion versus science. In addition, it is not our place to question any religion's revelations, traditions, or scriptures. Psychology as a social and behavioral science is our resource, and we will expand our energies at this level of understanding.
