1. Was Socrates' method of "teaching" by way of dialectic effective? Was it surreptitious - and did it have to be? Does this mean that we can't properly consider alternative ideas until we have some reason to doubt our own?
2. Why is Socrates called a "philosophical midwife"? Does this make the un-teachable teachable?
3. How can we make sense of Socrates' claim that the only true knowledge is knowing that you know nothing? Is there something false in all ideals that gives philosophy the right to lead to their progressive destruction?
