Creating and distributing textbooks are almost a risky business for them as well as the individual(s) publishing a book. If the book fails, it is an expensive mistake but if it succeeds, when executed properly it can be profitable publication.
2. What are the forecasting techniques that Thomson-Shore might find helpful when forecasting? I believe that the Thomson-Shore would best benefit from economic and demand forecast. The target markets household income may affect how money is allocated depending on the inflation rate. A book being a necessity versus a desire to own it for pleasure reading is the perfect example.
3. What are the limitation of these techniques for a business such as book publishing? Some limitations but are not limited to for publishing would be how the book is perceived whether it be a negative or positive one, household income, marking the book and any events in the news that may influence it as well.
