Rae & Wong, Beyond Integrity, 3rd Ed. (Zondervan) 2012, ISBN: 9780310291107 Hypothetical: Exec is an experienced and respected manager of ABC Inc.'s district office in the state of Columbia. The company's financial success and expansion into international trade has resulted in the upgrade of the district office's technology. To meet informational and communicative demands imposed on the district office, the computer network servers have been modernized and many filters and blocks have been removed from the network to enable worldwide contact and accessibility to websites.

On one occasion, while walking through the office, Exec observed several employees engaged in non-business related emails and others looking at inappropriate websites. All of ABC's employees are paid relatively well on a salaried basis and the company has been fairly lenient in imposing work hours and allowing time off for personal reasons. Startled at the misuse of the computers he observed, Exec issued a memo stating that all employees would be subject to observation and scrutiny in their computer usage.

Further, anyone caught using their computer for personal or inappropriate purposes would be docked a week's pay for the first infraction and for subsequent infractions, would be subject to termination. Is Exec's newly implemented policy ethical? Why or why not?
