Problem
Throughout the course of the story, Odysseus performs many great feats of strength that could be considered impossible or at least wildly over-the-top (such as clinging onto his wrecked raft for days at a time, the scene with him stringing his bow, and the discus throw in Phaecia). If Odysseus is supposed to be a hero of great wit, then why would Homer elect to include such feats of physical strength as opposed to showcasing his cunning further?
