This discussion topic is something that we may not think about very often, but these situations do happen. If there are no plans in place for the unconscious patient he or she will be treated as we are to assume that the patient would want help. The hospital personnel are going to act in the patient's best interest. As far as ethics are concerned, healthcare professionals are guided by medical ethics principles they will do their best to cause no harm to the patient.
