Like the bombing that happened in Oklahoma City, our soil was attacked again but by foreigners. After 9/11. FEMA worked along with other organizations to include DOJ, DOD, HHS, and National Guard units, along with local and state agencies to ensure that when a terrorist attack happens on our soil that we are better prepared to react and respond to the community working together instead of individual units and not communicating our information with each other. Due to events in the past DHS established the Critical Infrastructure Protection Task Force to ensure that vital infrastructures are comprehensive and carried out expeditiously. Due to such attacks as chemical, dangers concerning our air, water, and other sources become immanent. Such things as petrochemcials, nitrates, and ammonia or chlorine chemicals can cause catastrophic consequences when landed in the wrong hands. Ammonium nitrate and diesel oil was the explosives were used in both the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Because of these substance DHS are concerned with their release into the air due to their poisonous tendencies.
