Write a paper on the Topic: Dominant Minority: Ethnic Politics
This is a comparative cases study compares the cases of minority rule in Iraq, Syria, and Bahrain, and analyzes how why it continues to be a problem or exacerbate after majority take control of power.
• I am looking for descriptive and correlation analysis of data.
• Keep the the level of analysis simple and clear. I don’t need many models and logic involved.
• I am looking for meaningful tables with clear explanation of variables and interpretation of results.
• Under each table, please explain the results. I don’t need a lot of them without interpretation.
• Possible descriptive data may be on the number of Shiites and Sunnis and other minorities in the world comparing to the number of Sunni and Shiites and other minorities in the countries in this study: Iraq, Syria, and Bahrain.
• Specifically use the two provided data bases and nothing else without my consent.
Research Question:
Why ethnic violence is prevalence particularly in Iraq, Syria and Bahrain? And why it continues to be a problem or exacerbate after majority take control of power? Will that have an impact on the national identity of the state?
Hypothesis #1: If majority reassume power, they will emphasize their ethnic not national identity. (self determination). Evidence/ e.g. Iraq where Shiites began to show pride in their Shiisim rather than nationalistic identity as Arabs.
Hypothesis #2: National identity seems to unite people more if they are inherently a majority rule than when they are majority that assumed power after a struggle. Evidence:/e.g. Egypt, Qatar.
I need to analyze data from these two sources to describe and show any correlation between minority rule and ethnic conflict.
