Mrs. Manning is a 78-year-old woman who recently moved into an Aged Care Facility due to having a Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) 3 months ago. Mrs. Manning has left side hemiplegia requiring full assistance by two (2) carers with activities of daily living. Mrs. Manning has dysphagia, and she requires a soft diet and thickened fluids. Mrs Manning has difficulty communicating (dysphasia) and understanding verbal instructions. She has expressed frustration because of this and is frequently upset and teary.
Mrs Manning fell after having a shower and sustained a fractured right ulna and radius. She was admitted to hospital following the fall and has a cast on her right arm insitu. She had a bone density scan while in hospital which identified moderate osteoporosis.
