Problem: The geologic structure at Sideling Hill is part of a series of tightly folded anticlines and synclines that make up the Valley and Ridge Physiographic Province of eastern North America. It would be expected that anticlines would comprise the ridges and the synclines would comprise the valleys in this type of province. Why does Sideline Hill stand high as a ridge?
