You should pick a page that has both simultaneous and sequential transitions Then, you should make and support an analytical argument about how and why Bell juxtaposed the panels on that page in the ways she did and what the order of the panels suggests about the meaning of the graphic novel.
Here are some questions you should answer as you work on your post:
1) Which of the six kinds of transitions McCloud describes does Bell use on the page you've chosen? Which of the transitions between panels are sequential and which are simultaneous? How can you tell?
2) Why does Bell choose these types of transition? What information does the juxtaposition of panels convey? What aesthetic responses do the images produce? How do the images on this page contribute to the visual characterization of the characters who appear in them?
3) What does the arrangement of the images on the page suggest about Bell's didactic purpose?
